District Administrator Wolfgang Schuster visits ITK

District Administrator Wolfgang Schuster visits ITK Dr. Kassen GmbH in Lahnau with the business delegation and Mayor Silvia Wrenger-Knispel.

The market opportunities and the associated development of medium-sized companies as employers in the Lahn-Dill district are topics in which both District Administrator Wolfgang Schuster and the Head of the Department of Economics, Prof. Dr. Harald Danne, are particularly interested. During their visit to ITK Dr. Kassen GmbH, they were accompanied by the mayor of Lahnau, Silvia Wrenger-Knispel, the managing director of the Lahn-Dill Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Burghard Loewe, and Jessica Schaaf from the business development department.

The company ITK Dr. Kassen GmbH, founded in 1982, started as an engineering office in the field of hardware and software. With the development and production of positioning controls for mechatronic systems and the new construction of the company building Beim Eberacker in Lahnau, the production with the associated departments such as design and sales were also expanded over the years. Following strong growth in recent years, the company now has nearly 60 employees and offers a comprehensive product portfolio of high-precision positioning and motion systems, controllers and components for use in the semiconductor industry, life sciences, materials diagnostics and analysis, and measurement technology.

Marketing and Sales Manager Sebastian Rivera introduced the company and its products to the visitors and invited them to take a tour of the company. Topics were exchanged, such as the current shortage of skilled workers, which is also noticeable at ITK, as well as the planned expansion in the form of a new building due to the increased number of employees and the positive order situation. The market is growing, but the company is also desperately seeking qualified engineers and skilled workers. “In view of the global situation, we are also affected by supply bottlenecks from our suppliers. However, we try to remain able to deliver through clever advance planning and local resources,” Rivera explains. The fact that ITK has recently also become a training company was warmly welcomed by the local politicians.

Sebastian Rivera presented the industrial use of ITK positioning systems: ITK’s mechatronic systems are used in particular in microscope stages, which demonstrated their performance in terms of precision and dynamics in many research laboratories during the Corona pandemic. The positioning systems also play an important role in the semiconductor industry during wafer inspection.

At the farewell ceremony, the visitors expressed their delight at the loyalty to the location as well as the positive prospects for another “hidden champion”.
