In mid-January 2023, after a long planning period, the time had finally come: the day of the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for ITK’s new building. The excavators rolled in and the construction work could finally start. ITK expects the construction to take about 2 years, with the move scheduled for the end of 2024.

Growth and expansion

ITK has experienced significant growth. As a result, we have reached our limits at the current location with the production, warehouse and office capacities, the material flow was no longer optimal, which is why this step is necessary. “Product variety and turnover have increased strongly in recent years and continue to grow. The good order situation and the associated increase in the number of new employees have led to us bursting at the seams. A move to a larger building is essential,” explains Managing Director Dr. Ingolf Schäfer. Unfortunately, an extension at the current location was not possible and suitable plots of land in the surrounding area are scarce. By cooperating with a local property owner and his plans for the construction of a new building, ITK was given the opportunity to participate in the new building in the neighbourhood, which is exactly tailored to ITK’s requirements. This opens up new perspectives for ITK to invest in the future of the company.

The new company building

Approximately 65 employees will be able to move into the new premises after completion. They will find the following at their workplace:

– a total area for production and administration of approx. 4,500 square metres, more than double the current area

– new office and social rooms on two floors

– parking spaces in the underground car park

– Energy-efficient construction

– only 300 m from the current location
